This new AI (audio) + HUMAN (video) collaboration reimagines my original “IT is What IT is” video, a central work in an ongoing durational project. Traveled by sea, air, and land... because apparently, accepting ""reality"" may require an itinerary.

 

Incarnations include:

• “IT is What IT is by sea” — A site-specific installation aboard a barge off Miami Beach during Art Basel Miami, helping kick off the fair with a sunset pink Champagne toast. As one does.

• “IT is What IT is by air” — A digital work on the OBM board at PAMM in Miami.

• “IT is What IT is by land” — A sunset video projection at the Deering Estate in Miami.

 

For this latest version, I shared the video with my AI companion G10VANN1 and asked, “What audio would you create to accompany this?” Several rounds of creative back-and-forth later, we landed on a sound and video pairing that brings our two visions together.

 

It is what it is. Until we remix it.
